The UIW ABSN track offers not only a quality, accredited curriculum and expert faculty that care deeply about your success, but also academic practice partnerships with two of the most respected health networks in Southern Texas — CHRISTUS Health System and Methodist Healthcare System.

Currently operating in 60 locations around Texas, Methodist Healthcare is San Antonio’s second-largest private employer, with a staff more than 11,000 strong. Plus, just like UIW, each is dedicated to serving others inspired by the compassionate and healing ministry of Jesus Christ.

Beginning the first semester of our 16-month ABSN track, you’ll gain valuable real-world nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings around the greater San Antonio area. There, you’ll learn from some of the best in the field while building your professional network.
Through these diverse clinical experiences at CHRISTUS Health System and Methodist Healthcare System, you'll get to work with patients in a number of areas, potentially including:
- Medical-surgical
- Behavioral health
- Obstetrics (maternity)
- Pediatrics
In all of these settings, you can also expect to receive dedicated attention from your nursing instructors thanks to our small clinical class sizes.
