The University of the Incarnate Word Accelerated BSN track offers not only a quality, accredited curriculum and expert faculty that really care about your success, but also academic practice partnerships with two of the most respected health networks in Southern Texas — CHRISTUS Health System and Methodist Healthcare System.
Named one of the top 10 Catholic health systems in the country, CHRISTUS Health System employs more than 45,000 people across 600 centers in Texas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Arkansas, as well as in Mexico, Chile and Colombia. Currently operating 60 locations around Texas, Methodist Healthcare is San Antonio’s second largest private employer, with a staff more than 11,000 strong. Beginning the first semester of our 16-month Accelerated BSN track, you’ll gain valuable real-world nursing experience in a variety of clinical settings around the greater San Antonio area. There, you’ll learn from some of the best in the field while building your professional network.
Through these diverse clinical experiences at CHRISTUS Health System and Methodist Healthcare System, you will get to work with patients in a number of areas, which could include:
- Medical-surgical
- Behavioral health
- Obstetrics (maternity)
- Pediatrics
In all of these settings, you can also expect dedicated attention from your nursing instructors thanks to small clinical class sizes.
