UIW is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, master’s, doctorate and professional degrees. Nursing Accreditation

The baccalaureate degree program in nursing, master’s degree program in nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice programs, and post-graduate certificate programs at UIW are all accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

State Approval

The ABSN track at UIW is approved by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON), located at 333 Guadalupe, Suite 3-460, Austin, TX 78701-3944, 512-305-7400.

Nursing Licensure

Once students graduate from the accelerated BSN track at UIW, they are eligible to apply for licensure in the state where they’ll work as a nurse. They’ll be able to sit for the NCLEX, and upon passing this exam and meeting any other state-specific requirements, they can receive their registered nurse license.
